How templates work
Each template is:
A named pipeline
With agents, topics and rules already connected.
A prerequisites list
API keys, MCP plugins, files. Pulse checks before deploying.
A config-fields wizard
Template-specific choices (time zone, slug, regex, threshold).
A license tier
Basic (free on every plan) or premium (PRO or per-template unlock).
Deploying a template is non-destructive: the agents and topics it creates are yours to inspect, edit, delete or duplicate afterwards. Nothing is hidden.
The deploy flow
- 1.Browse the catalog from Templates in the sidebar.
- 2.Click a template card → a wizard opens.
- 3.Fill in the prerequisites (credentials encrypted on disk).
- 4.Fill in the config fields (with inline help for each).
- 5.Click Deploy. Pulse provisions the pipeline and tells you it's live.
- 6.Send a test event (or wait for the schedule / source to trigger it).

Building your own templates
If you've deployed something repeatable, you can package it as a user template:
- 1.On the Pipelines page, find your pipeline → Export as template.
- 2.Edit the generated JSON: name, description, icon, prerequisites, config schema.
- 3.Save to user-templates/ in your data directory.
- 4.It appears in the gallery with a 'Custom' badge.
User templates are yours, no licensing involved. On ENTERPRISE, user templates can be shared across multiple Pulse installs via a template registry.
